When designing the new Edeka headquarters in Moers, natural materials, warm colors and real plants were used to create a pleasant atmosphere. In the entrance area there is a generously planned reception and waiting area with round seating islands that are surrounded by black slats and thus create a cozy atmosphere. In order to mark the different areas of the room, the walkways and seating areas are highlighted by a wooden tile with a parquet look, the remaining area is finished with a glossy tile in a concrete look.
In the catering area there are three different islands with a food outlet, the coffee bar, the city garden and the local kitchen. The islands were designed to match the theme in colors and materials. The counter of the coffee bar is clad in a warm gold and black marble look, as well as a white grid construction as a ceiling sail, which is backlit in warm orange tones.
In the back area of the coffee island there is a relaxation zone and an adjacent coworking space. The relaxation zone is designed in lush greenery, real plants, soft carpeting and a staircase directly in front of a large window front with a view of the outside.
The coworking area can also be used flexibly together with the seating options in the relaxation zone for events or seminars. Here, too, there are seating niches as places of retreat, which were designed to fit in with Edeka as a supermarket chain for pear-shaped food.
The environment and nature are integrated into the concept through the many natural materials, plants, colors and shapes.
